ABOUT US

Who We Are
Friends of European Hunting and Conservation (FEHC) is an international organization dedicated to uniting sustainable hunting traditions with modern conservation practices. Based in Boulder, Colorado, with partnerships across Europe, we work to ensure that wildlife, habitats, and cultural heritage are preserved for future generations. Our members include scientists, hunters, educators, and community leaders who share a common vision: that conservation and tradition can—and must—work hand in hand.
We believe conservation is not just about protecting species; it’s about protecting the delicate balance between humans and nature. For centuries, hunting has been part of Europe’s cultural and ecological fabric, but it must be practiced responsibly. FEHC ensures that hunting becomes a tool for biodiversity protection, rather than exploitation, through ethical practices, education, and community-centered initiatives.
Sustainable Hunting for Future Generations
Our approach balances the needs of people, wildlife, and habitats. By advocating for responsible hunting practices, we ensure that natural populations thrive, while communities continue to benefit from cultural traditions that respect the environment.
Together for Conservation
We invite hunters, conservationists, and nature lovers to stand united. By working together, we can protect fragile habitats, restore ecosystems, and foster an enduring respect for wildlife across Europe and beyond.
Our Story
FEHC was founded out of the recognition that conservation needs to be inclusive. Too often, debates pit hunters and conservationists against each other, but our founders saw an opportunity to bridge that divide. They believed sustainable hunting could play a vital role in protecting ecosystems—if guided by science, ethics, and collaboration.
What began as a small group of passionate individuals soon grew into an international movement. Today, FEHC works across borders, connecting people, communities, and governments to achieve lasting change. Our story is one of partnership, resilience, and hope: that by respecting both nature and tradition, we can build a sustainable future together.

Our Global Partnerships
Although our focus is on European ecosystems, our mission is global in nature. Wildlife conservation cannot be confined by borders. That’s why we collaborate with international NGOs, universities, governments, and local organizations to share knowledge and amplify our impact.
These partnerships allow us to exchange best practices, adopt innovative conservation methods, and bring diverse voices into the conversation. By connecting traditions and science across cultures, we ensure that conservation solutions are both effective and inclusive.
Our Guiding Values
We believe conservation must be collaborative. That’s why we work with local communities, scientific researchers, and policy makers to ensure our efforts are both impactful and inclusive.
Why It Matters
Our heritage depends on balance. Without active stewardship, wildlife faces mounting threats from climate change, habitat loss, and poaching. We stand as guardians of both nature and tradition, ensuring neither is lost.
Looking Ahead
We measure success not only by what we achieve today, but by the world we leave behind tomorrow. Our vision is a future where Europe’s forests, wetlands, and mountains are rich with wildlife, where communities continue traditions with respect for nature, and where children grow up knowing the value of stewardship.
FEHC is more than an organization—it is a movement. Every supporter, volunteer, and partner who joins us becomes part of a legacy of conservation and cultural respect. Together, we can ensure that the story of hunting and conservation is one of harmony, not conflict, and that the natural world remains a gift we pass forward.

Community-Centered Projects
From awareness campaigns to fieldwork, our projects always involve local communities, ensuring conservation delivers social and environmental benefits. We believe that conservation cannot succeed if it is imposed from outside—it must come from within the communities that live alongside wildlife every day. That’s why we focus on education, training, and participation, empowering local people to take an active role in protecting their environment.
Through strong partnerships with schools, conservation groups, and local governments, we ensure that the next generation inherits not just traditions, but also responsibility. We believe that instilling a sense of stewardship early in life creates citizens who will champion conservation long into the future. By blending cultural heritage with ecological awareness, we prepare future leaders who value both tradition and sustainability.
